Holiday Helping Hands
The Gowanda Police Department and Gowanda Lions Club have joined forces to help provide a Merry Christmas for the children in need within the community.
With the combined efforts of the Police Department and the Lions Club this program provides toys and gifts to children from infancy to seniors in high school who are residents of the Gowanda School District. Donations obtained will be distributed to the families during the month of December. This past year we reached over 200 children.
Donations to support Holiday Helping Hands should be made payable to the Gowanda Lions Club, PO Box 1, Gowanda New York. Any financial assistance provide will help make this long-running program successful. Bicycle Safety Program
Laws regarding bicycle helmet use for children under the age of 14:

Any parent or guardian that is unable to obtain a bicycle safety helmet for their child under age 14, please contact the police department for one.
Bicycle helmets will be provided courtesy of the Gowanda Police Department and Healthy Community Alliance of Gowanda as part of the grant Safe Routes to School Program.
