SPRING BIG TRASH PICKUP

Pick up will be

Monday April 29^th

ALL ROADS WILL HAVE TRASH PICKED UP ONE TIME. Contracted to MRC Disposal.

ALL TRASH MUST BE AT THE ROAD BY MONDAY APRIL 29^TH AT 6 AM. 

NO EXCEPTIONS.

All items must be no more than 50 lbs.

Limit of 10 items–items must be separated & bundled with your cooperation.

WILL PICK UP

Couches, Chairs, Mattresses, Box Springs, Batteries, Coiled Barbed Wire, Items Bundled in 4’ lengths, appliances with this restriction:

NO Refrigerators, Freezers,

or Air Conditioners

ITEMS MUST NOT WIEIGHT MORE THAN 50 LBS. (small items must be in durable containers)

Each resident will be responsible for keeping all items packaged as required.

Limit of 10 items

WILL NOT PICKUP

Tires, Ashes, Refrigerators, Freezers, Air Conditioners, Propane Tanks, Paint in Cans, Unapproved Construction Waste, Garbage, Used Oil, Dead Animals or Animal Waste, Brush, Hazardous Waste, Chemicals, Fluorescent Bulbs, NO Vehicle Fuel Tanks, No Electronics of any kind including NO TV’s.

Trash may be put out no more than 5 days prior to pick up.  Any remaining trash must be removed from curb within 5 days after pick up

Residents and people putting out trash for Village pickup that is brought in from outside the Village of Gowanda may be subject to prosecution.

Pursuant to Section 5-508 of the Village Law of the State of New York, the tentative budget for the Village of Gowanda has been prepared and filed with the Village Clerk at the Village Office, 27 East Main Street, Gowanda, New York, where it may be examined by all interested persons between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesday and 8 a.m. -12 p.m. on Friday.  Said tentative budget includes a maximum compensation for the Mayor of $8,000, the Deputy Mayor of $4,500 and for the Trustees of $4,000 per annum.

A summary of the tentative budget is as follows:

            General Fund              $ 2,168,839.00

            Water Fund                 $ 843,179.00

            Sewer Fund                 $ 1,069,867.00

A public hearing on the Budget will be held at the Village of Gowanda Municipal Hall, 27 East Main Street, Gowanda, New York on March 26, 2024 at 5:00 PM to consider the same before final adoption. 

Please take note the Village of Gowanda Board of Trustees Meeting for April 2024 has been moved from April 9th to April 16th. Time is not changed- 6PM in Village Board Room April 16, 2024.

RESOLUTION DESIGNATING OFFICES TO BE FILLED AND THEIR ASSOICATED TERMS FOR THE March 19, 2024 VILLAGE ELECTIONS

WHEREAS, Board of Trustees of the Village of Gowanda must designate by Resolution and publish the offices which are to be filled in such election and the terms thereof,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT

RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees hereby designates the following offices as vacant at the end of the current year, to be filled at the Village Election, for the following offices and terms:

Trustee            Two (2) years

Trustee            Two (2) years

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Village Election shall be conducted in the Gowanda Village Hall 27 East Main St, Gowanda New York on Tuesday March 19, 2024 from 12:00 Noon-9:00 PM.
