The Village of Gowanda has opened a recycling center at the Wastewater Treatment plant located on Aldrich Street.  Bins are available for plastic and tin/steel/metal.  No glass or e-waste will be taken.  The center will be open on Wednesdays from 8:00 until 11:00 a.m. and again from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m.  It will also be open on Saturday mornings from 8:00 until 10:00 a.m.

The Village of Gowanda is accepting sealed bids for Village-wide garbage and trash pickup until 2:00 p.m. on March 13, 2015. The services consist of garbage and recyclable pickup for approximately 1250 units in the Village. Trash and yard waste pickup could be provided as well. Said services are to be provided for a three year period. Copies of the specifications may be obtained at the Village of Gowanda, 27 East Main Street, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Due to the fluctuations in temperature, please be aware there is a possibility of frozen lines.  If you notice any kind of excessive use of water or seepage of water from your yard or street, please notify either the Water Department or the Village Office immediately.  Please check to make sure all outside water spigots are turned off and all hoses are removed.   Thank you.

TRAVEL BAN for the Village of Gowanda was lifted at 5:00am this morning.  There is a lake effect snow warning for our area until noon today.  Please drive with caution.

Due to the possibility of high volumes of snow in a short period of time, the Village of Gowanda will be under a driving ban until further notice.   Emergency Managment Office advices that all residents stay in doors and off the roads tonight.  We hope to have roads passable by morning.
