Special meeting

The Village of Gowanda will hold a special Village Board meeting on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 beginning at 6:00 p.m.  Mayor McKeever will present the proposed 2017-2018 Village budget.  The sewer committee will also present the findings on the sewer revenues/expenditures at the current time.  A public hearing will be held at 7:30 p.m. regarding the findings of the sewer committee.

Village Election

A General Election of the Village of Gowanda will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 27 East Main Street, Gowanda, New York.  Polls will be open from 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m.  To be elected:  One (1) Mayor; two (2) trustees, each for a two year term.  Independent petitions have been filed for these positions:

Mayor – Gowanda on the Move Party – David L. Smith, 35 North Chapel Street

Mayor – Forward Party – Samuel D. Castellano, 21 Frederick Street

Trustee – Open Door Party – Paul M. Zimmermann, 230 Jamestown Street

Trustee – Allegiance Party – Carol A. Sheibley, 95 Torrance Place

Trustee – Public Rights Party – Jack T. Broyles, 93 Walnut Street

Special Village board meeting

There will be a special Village board meeting tomorrow, February 15, 2017, at 7:00 p.m.   There will be three action items:  approval to move BAN funds into higher interest-bearing account, accept the resignation of J. Bartholomew from the Gowanda Police Department and approve payment of the GARC insurance bill.  Discussion will be a charge to the financial committee to review sewer revenues/expenditures and then an executive session will be held regarding a Task Force candidate.

Special meeting – presentation of 2017-18  budget to Board – 6:00 p.m. March 28 2017

Budget work session – April 11, 2017 – 5:00 p.m.

Special meeting – April 25, 2017 – Action on final budget – 6:00 p.m.
