VILLAGE OF GOWANDA

NOTICE OF BUDGET HEARING

Pursuant to Section 5-508 of the Village Law of the State of New York, the tentative budget for the Village of Gowanda has been prepared and filed with the Village Clerk at the Village Office, 27 East Main Street, Gowanda, New York, where it may be examined by all interested persons between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesday and 8 a.m. -12 p.m. on Friday.  Said tentative budget includes a maximum compensation for the Mayor of $8,000, the Deputy Mayor of $4,500 and for the Trustees of $4,000 per annum.

A summary of the tentative budget is as follows:

            General Fund              $ 2,225,085.00

            Water Fund                 $ 748,316.00

            Sewer Fund                 $ 974,717.00

A public hearing on the Budget will be held at the Village of Gowanda Municipal Hall, 27 East Main Street, Gowanda, New York on March 28, 2022 at 5 PM to consider the same before final adoption.

New Water/Sewer Rates

On December 13, 2022 the board held a public hearings for the proposed water/sewer rate increase.

On January 10, 2023 the board voted to increase the water/sewer rates

The new Water Rate will be $46.00 minimum up to 4,000 gallons and $6.04 per 1000 over.

The new Sewer Rate will be $23.00 minimum up to 4,000 gallons and $4.03 per 1000 over

Home Town Hero Banners

The hometown hero banners will not be put back up. They are at the Village Hall for anyone who wishes to come claims them.

They are available for pick up during regular office hours Mon, Wed, Thurs 8am-4pm, Tues 8am-5pm and Fri 8am-12pm

SEWER RATE INCREASE

FOR THE VILLAGE OF GOWANDA

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Village of Gowanda Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing on Tuesday December 13th at 5:45 PM in the Municipal Building, 27 East Main St, Gowanda NY 14070.  All interested parties will be heard.

The public hearing is required by law and provides an opportunity for public comment on the proposed Sewer Rate Increase.
