NOTICE TO ALL VILLAGE OF GOWANDA RESIDENTS: PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that NEW garbage regulations will take place beginning on June 1, 2015. Garbage will now be picked up on THURSDAYS, instead of Monday, beginning on June 4, 2015. The LAST MONDAY pickup will actually be on TUESDAY, MAY 26th, as Monday, May 25, is Memorial Day. Stickered garbage will still be picked up at curbside. EFFECTIVE JUNE 1, NEW GARBAGE STICKER PRICES WILL BE IN EFFECT. 15-GALLON BAGS will now be $2,00; 30-GALLON BAGS will now be $3.00. Current stickers cannot be used after June 30, 2015. You can bring any unused stickers to the Village hall for an exchange.
Every garbage bag placed at the curb must have a sticker on it. Violators will be reported to the Village hall for enforcement. Fines will be issued for persistent violations.
Recylcable materials will no longer be picked up at the curb. As a temporary option, this material can be taken to the Town of Dayton Transfer Station on Tuesdays and Saturdays at no charge. We are working to develop a drop off site in the Village in the near future. If you have any questions, call the Village hall or go to the Cattaragus County website at http://www.cattco.org/refuse-division/recycling-programs.
Large trash pickup will be the second Thursday on July 9 and October 8. Yard waste will be picked up on July 30 and October 29. Tires can no longer be dropped off at the sewer treatment plant.

ALSO NOTE: The Village of Gowanda Clerk’s Office will be closed on FRIDAYS beginning June 5, 2015. As a reminder, the Clerk’s office is open on Tuesday evening until 5:30 p.m.
